Chapra Social and Economic Welfare Association (SEWA), a value based, pro-people voluntary organization, is committed to empower vulnerable children, women, poor, deprived and marginalized people of communities.
Chapra SEWA believes that social change and values of equality are to be achieved with the pro-active role of rural women, adolescents and good practices of down trodden community people.
Chapra SEWA was formed in 1993 by a group of energetic and sensitive youngsters with a view to act as ‘Good Samaritan’ and started its journey towards mission by organizing “Mahila Mandal” (Women Organization) in two villages of Chapra Gram Panchayat of Chapra Block, Nadia, West Bengal in 1995 and presently it has extended its direct activities in 6 Blocks which are just on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border and indirect right based services to people of all other 11 Blocks of Nadia district of West Bengal.
